This year's reunion will include a Silent Auction to raise funds for the Shaw Buck Scholarship fund as well as other projects supported by the Groveland High School Alumni Association (GHSAAI).  Check back often to see new items up for bid.

About the silent auction --

The auction items will be located on tables in the check-in area. Each item will have a bid sheet where you can write down your name and bid amount. The items will go to the highest bidder.

SPORTS COLLECTIBLES!

Sports fans will love these valuable, autographed memorabilia items (hat and magazine) from the UF Gators' national championship baseball team, which included Michael Byrne, an All-American who holds the UF record for most saves in a single season (19) and most career saves (36). He was drafted in 2018 by the Cincinnati Reds. Thanks to GHS alumni Rita Hardy Byrne, Michael's mom, who donated these items. Michael signed the official locker room cap. The magazine is signed by Gator Coach Kevin O'Sullivan and players Brady Singer, Jackson Kowar and Michael Byrne.

BEACH VACATION!

Plan your dream vacation at one of Florida's top beach destinations -- beautiful Holmes Beach at Anna Maria Island. This spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bath home is just a short block from the beach and Gulf of Mexico. Bid on the opportunity to vacation at this beach house. (Will need to check with owner on available dates.) The home sleeps six and comes fully furnished, including WiFi and DirecTV. Thanks  to GHS alumni Lennon Jordan for offering this fabulous rental.

UNIQUE GROVELAND ART!

GHS grads will be inspired by these beautiful, framed watercolor paintings by GHS alumni David Campos. Bid on either of these matted and framed Giclee limited edition prints. The painting on the left is the Groveland Auditorium, which was the "walk-in" movie theater until it was demolished in the 1960s. The painting on the right is a true-to-life rendering of First Baptist Church in Groveland, as it looked in the 1960s. The church continues to serve at its location across the street from the former Groveland High School.

GREENBACK SPECIAL!

GHS alumni Dan Michele created this one-of-a-kind replica of an orange crate, once a staple seen around Groveland. It measures 24" x 10" x 10" and can be used for storage or stood on end for an end table. Or as Dan says, "If things get bad, you can go out and pick fruit to go in it!" Suggested starting bid: $30.

The end reads: GROVELAND GREENBACKS and in the center, GROVELAND, FLA.

COPPER FOUNTAIN!

Talented GHS alumni and artist Carl Pendergrass is donating this amazing fountain from his Chattanooga studio, Carl's Copper, which has been featured on TV. Carl's copper sculptures have been featured in businesses and hotels, as well as many homes and gardens.

COMPLETE COLLECTION OF GHS ALUMNI JACK SPEER'S SONGS ABOUT GROVELAND!

Truly a treasure chest of music every Greenback will want for their home and travel. Jack Speer, who wrote, "My Hometown," "Greenback Pride," "Friends," "Class of '68" and more is generously donating his collection to this auction. The music is downloaded onto a flash drive with directions about how to convert to a CD.
